A simple drone can be enough to amaze the world. In any case, this is what the Indian photographer shows that you will discover today through these magnificent shots.

By day, Raj Mohan works in a company, but in his spare time he is an award-winning wildlife photographer who enjoys exploring India’s rich biodiversity. For almost a decade, he traveled to the four corners of the country to photograph his most beautiful landscapes seen from the sky. During one of these many journeys, he notably documented the annual migration of flamingos to Lake Pulicat, in the state of Tamil Nadu. And you will see that his photos are a real treat for the eyes!
Every January, tens of thousands of flamingos visit this large body of water, which is the second largest saltwater lagoon in India. Obviously, Raj Mohan is far from being the only one to go there because the event is widely promoted by the local tourist office. However, the photographer easily manages to pull out of the game thanks to the beauty of his shots showing the flamingos in different formations.
“Watching this endless pink sea due to the tens of thousands of flamingos in the lake was a dream. Additionally, flamingos are social birds that stay in colonies and stick together for a variety of reasons. Their behavioral traits were impressive and by capturing them from an aerial point of view, I was able to realize that the movements of their flight were nothing less than art”, declared Raj Mohan to our colleagues from My Modern Met.
A recognized talent as a photographer
All photographers will tell you, the talent of Raj Mohan is well established. He excels in his ability to highlight the beauty of these great migratory birds in their natural habitat. We think in particular of his photo of flamingos grouped together in the shape of a heart. Indeed, this one was selected by the jury of the 2022 Nature inFocus Photography Awards and it is easy to understand why when you take the time to look at the absolutely awe-inspiring photos he is able to achieve.
